You are correct, in my opinion, in highlight...Joe,<br /><br />You are correct, in my opinion, in highlighting the responsibility of the bishops. I have never wanted to criticise our bishops - and perhaps it is not just they, but those who advise them who should be in the frame - but they are the successors of the Apostles, and they are ultimately responsible if the faith is not taught as it should be in schools, colleges and even in parishes because they have oversight. If they do not correct when they should, they are failing, and failing badly. Yes, these "prominent Catholics" who sometimes arrogantly apply an authority to themselves (e.g. "I am an academic theologian and writer")need to be told, and told quickly that they are wrong and seriously at odds with the Magisterium.
